It is with immense pleasure that we welcome you to the Computer and Information Sciences website.

The first computer science undergraduate degree was awarded in 1984. Currently the department offers, individually and with other programs, MS in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science (focus areas: Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, and Integrated), BS in Computer Science, BS in Informatics, and BS in Informatics Online. We also offer graduate certificate, postbaccalaureate certificate, undergraduate certificates, and various minors.

Our CS curriculum is based on the recommendations of the ACM/ABET organizations which are the premier organizations in the CS profession. Our Informatics program allows students to develop or find technological solutions to solve problems in the area of their passion (e.g., Bioinformatics, Business, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, English, Health Informatics, Life Sciences, Mathematics, New Media / Arts, Physics, Psychology, Social Informatics, Web Development)

Currently, there are twelve tenured full-time faculty members with terminal degrees, a lecturer, and a number of associate faculty. Additional information about the faculty and their research interests and teaching is available on the research areas page.
