Computer and Information Sciences (COIS) Department Mission

  • To prepare our graduate and undergraduate majors for successful careers in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Technology, and CS-enabled disciplines.
  • To educate students in the broader campus community in fundamental concepts of computers and information technology, and problem solving using computers.
  • To create and disseminate new knowledge in computer and information sciences.
  • To work with local organizations to understand their needs and to provide our students with practical experiences.

Scholarships

The Department of Computer and Information Sciences is pleased to offer a competitive $30,000 scholarship in Informatics that covers four years of tuition and fees for select incoming students. The department also offers an annual scholarship of up to $3000 for current computer science students who demonstrate high academic achievement.
