Background
Mr. Flattery is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. He has an MA in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame, and a BA in Philosophy from Texas A&M University.
Teaching Interests
Mr. Flattery currently teaches Introduction to Philosophy online at IUSB. He has various teaching interests, for example, in modern philosophy (17th-18th centuries), philosophy of mind, topics in contemporary metaphysics, and philosophy of technology.
Research Interests
Mr. Flattery's primary area of research is in modern philosophy, at present focusing on the varieties of ontological independence in Leibniz's system of thought. But he also has research interests in other historical figures (e.g., Descartes, Berkeley), as well as in contemporary topics in metaphysics (e.g., essentialism, free will, mind).
