The Women's and Gender Studies major is intended to introduce students to the intellectual and methodological perspectives and practices characteristic of the discipline, within the context of a liberal arts education. The program is designed to prepare students for immediate entry into the workplace, as well as to pursue further graduate study.
Many of our students are going to school full-time while also working, taking care of families, and contributing to their community.
They provide leadership to campus student organizations and put out award-winning publications like Analecta, the Undergraduate Research Journal, and New Views on Gender. They conduct research, either independently or with faculty members, which they then publish or present at regional and national conferences.
They broaden their horizons by taking advantage of numerous summer and academic year study abroad opportunities.
They enrich the Michiana community. Many of our graduates continue to live and work in this region, putting their educations to work to help develop our community.
