The IU South Bend English Department is pleased to announce a new writing contest for First Year Writing students enrolled in W130, W131, and ESL First Year Writing during the current calendar year. This contest will provide an opportunity for students to showcase their best writing.
Any currently enrolled IU South Bend student who completed a First Year writing course in the current calendar year is eligible to submit papers from one of the above mentioned First Year Writing courses.
Winning papers will be eligible for a cash prize and on-line publication on the IU South Bend English Department website. Winners will also be listed on the English Department website as an acknowledgment of their efforts and strong writing skills.
All entries should be submitted via the link above. Applicants will also be required to provide an electronic signature of consent to edit and publish their submissions and an honor policy certifying that it is their original work from one of the First Year Writing courses.
Deadline for submissions will be December 31st of each calendar year. Students may submit eligible papers at any time.
We are excited to offer this as an enhancement to our English Department’s First Year Writing Program and to provide our IU South Bend writing students an opportunity for their academic excellence to shine! Thank you for your interest and participation; we look forward to reading your submissions.
