I have taught at IU South Bend since spring 1999. I previously taught Spanish part-time at Purdue-North Central and Southwestern Michigan College and full-time at the University of Notre Dame. I have received an Excellence in Teaching Award and a Trustee’s Teaching Award. I currently am a member of the International Programs Advisory Board, the University Center for Excellence in Teaching Advisory Board, the General Education Committee, the Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean’s Search Committee and am chair of the college’s Reappointment and Promotion of Lecturers Committee.

Teaching Interests:
I teach first and second year Spanish language courses, the culture and conversation course and the two upper-level writing courses.

Other Interests:
I fulfill an essential role on campus as Director of the LaRC. The Center serves not only all language students in the Department of World Language Studies but also international students in the English as a Second Language section. In addition, I administer and process non-English language placement exams for IU South Bend.

Several times I served as Resident Director of the IU South Bend study abroad program in Cuernavaca, México. I studied at the Universitat de Barcelona in Spain as an undergrad and have also studied in México, Costa Rica, Great Britain and the Dominican Republic. My travels have taken me to France, Italy, Portugal, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.
