Internships

Internship Opportunities in History

Internships should be either one or three credits.

The History Department offers an excellent opportunity for students to earn academic credit and gain practical experience by interning at one of several local museums, libraries, and archives. Typically, students enroll in 3 credits of HIST H496 (Instructor permission required), which requires 10 hours of work per week. Students are also required to keep a journal and complete additional academic assignments. Occasionally, the department and place of work allow 1-credit internships.

Below is a list of organizations at which students can potentially intern. It is recommended that students who are interested should review this list and consider where they might like to intern. Internships need to be set up prior to the beginning of each semester or summer, and permission is required. For permission and additional information please contact the Department’s Internship Coordinator, Professor Hayley Froysland, at hfroysla@iusb.edu
