Scholarships

Scholarships

All General Studies program majors who meet the criteria are considered for the scholarship and merit awards. Scholarships are awarded based on a student's cumulative grade point average and number of IU credit hours. Merit awards are given based on a student's grade point average for the year immediately preceding the award year. A student must have been on the Dean's List for both the fall and spring semester of the year immediately preceding the award year to be eligible for the scholarship or merit awards.

The General Studies Scholarship Committee determines the annual awards based on student qualifications and available funds.

Financial Aid

IU South Bend students receive more than $34 million in financial aid each year. This includes scholarships and grants offering "free money" (not paid back), work-study opportunities that allow you to work and earn money to help pay for your costs, and low-interest student and parent loans (borrowed money that must be repaid). More than half of IU South Bend students qualify for financial aid and applying is free! For more information, go to the Office of Financial Aid.

Scholarships

There are a variety of scholarships available to IU South Bend students. Campuswide Scholarships and Awards are directed toward IU South Bend students in general, and/or to students in more than one academic unit. For more information, go to IU South Bend Scholarships.
