I've been teaching First Year Writing here at IUSB since 2012. Before that, I was a magazine editor for more than a decade. I love using my background working with writers to help my current students express their ideas in clear and compelling ways. When I'm not teaching, I am a freelance writer and my work appears regularly in such magazines as Real Simple, Redbook, Good Housekeeping, and Parents. I have written about everything from my rent-a-chickens to fear of clowns, but my main beat is psychology, parenting, and wellness. In 2016, I was shocked in a good way to win a National Magazine Award for my writing.
