T K Vinod Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice. He received his Ph.D. from Indiana University Bloomington. His research interests are Policing, Public Disorder and State Response, Ethnic Conflicts, Counter Terrorism, and Quantitative Techniques. . His publications have appeared in various academic journals. His book Public Events and Police Response. Understanding Public Order Policing in Democratic India was published in 2013 by Oxford University Press.
He has extensive experience in the field of Criminal Justice having worked in India, with the United Nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and as United Nations Police Adviser in Sierra Leone. He has been awarded the UN Medal for Service and the President of India’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
